Shop communications¶

Database system¶

• Chris is still in contact with Ohio City Cycles regarding a possible collaboration on a database project.
• Chris recommends implementing and testing the SF Bike Kitchen’s program once a computer is in the shop.

Internet¶

• Will is still awaiting a reply from GTech regarding sharing their wireless.

Shop Computer¶

• During this Sunday’s volunteer day (January 10th) we will prepare a place for the computer near where the water cooler currently stands.
  • A hole needs to be made to run cables.
• The computer will ideally be boxed in or otherwise secured to prevent theft.
• Although the internet is not yet available, it will be good to move ahead for the sake of making progress.
• Important information can be transfered to the computer until the internet is available.

Forms need printing¶

• Will is going to print the donation receipt form.

Volunteer night task organization¶

New volunteer night task organization

• The goal is to have set weeks in the month when tasks will always be completed.
• Once made it needs to be prominently displayed in the shop so not to be lost
• There need to be explanations for the more involved tasks
• Put thoughts and tasks on the page linked above

Staffing manual summary (moved to the wiki)¶

Staffing Maual Wiki

• Will moved the staffing manual to a wiki where it can be easily viewed, updated, and printed.
• A link has also been put in the working space on the front page.

World Communication¶

Email lists¶

Email Lists Overview

• Will would like to reorganize the current email addresses.
• It would be good to use the @freeridepgh.org domain
• This domain could be routed to our gmail and sorted using filters to get the email to the appropriate folders and people.

Newsletter¶

• Will has created a template to be used for newsletters through Wordpress.
• Will made a page on the Free Ride website where people can sign up for the newsletter or email various committees.
  • It is under Email Lists
• Jess brought up the desire for a table of contents for the newsletter to make it more reader friendly. This would be similar to the one used in Bike PGH’s newsletter.

Web page changes¶

Collaboration Page

• Will has created a one-stop page for those who want to get involved with Free Ride.
• This can funtion as a central communication point for all shop, committee, and council related involvement.
  Now on the webpage for those who want to get involved.
