Fresh food order¶

Naom said the five we looked at where all pretty similar, but he reckoned Farm around looked Good
Dan mentioned local and organic option
We consulted Cara
Someone mentioned that we could try one and then try another a different one next week
Noam suggested that we should go for Riverford 1 fruit and one vege per week

Suma¶

Order comes to our area on wed/thursday. Card payment or cash to driver.
Long discussion on when to order and that Noam and Val might be busy

Participants¶

We talked about who was up for it. Basically the same as online.
Dan said he would do a food co-op board in the corridor by this Friday the 22nd (cough cough oops), so that everyone could see how it worked.

Commitment¶

Dan mentioned the idea of participants saying YES! to the ‘agreements’ online to commit to the program
Noam said financial commitment was maybe enough
We agreed to at least have a day when we sat and looked at things to make sure that we where sure about it.

Money¶

Long disscusion, finding our way slowly to the light
We had a very rough estimate for dry food from Katja of more than £1,500.00 which was so much because it included some double listed items and also listings for massive 25K bags we probably won’t get after-all
We expected to need people to put in an initial £200.00 pounds each to get us going. For five of us to have £1,000 at least to start it off.
This would be treated as a loan and could be paid back whenever it was needed by people.
It should be seen as separate from the payments for meals per day.
Val said she would have difficulty until the end of the month, after which she could pay £180.00 she recons
(Hazel since said she had reservations about paying so much)
Based on this we did the following calculations which where fun and brought the project to life.
1.50 for Breakfast, 1.50 for lunch, £3 for dinner. £6 per day. Six days per week (£36), for six people £216. Per month £864.
The vege order is £27.1 (one fruit £9.95, one vege £17.15). Per month is £108.4.
If we take this away from the monthly (rounded down and very rough) £800, we get £700.
If £400 of this is for dry food per month we are left with £300 per month for Dairy and bread and extras. Or £75 per week.

Dan recounted a house that had a tin on the table with a big sign, as lot sots of people forget to contribute.
We said that VISITORS should add money to the box directly (we need to get a clearly marked tin), and housemates of GUESTS would add a +1 to the list to pay for them.

The food order¶

After adding many many more things, we feel we have all the basics. More work on it is needed, to remove double orders and we may have missed things so printing the list out and pining it up for people to read is essential

Things to do before order¶

Long discussion!
Noam and Val are busy with work so our 25th date was too soon.
We ended up deciding the following time line.
TIMELINE:
Friday the 22nd to have a notice board up (cough cough, opps – Dan)
Monday 25th meeting (finalise order and decide on boxes and clearing day)
Thursday the 28th to order.
Arrives on wed/thurs the next week 2nd and 3rd of February.

Storage¶

Joe and Dan didn’t get the jars but will, we haven’t got boxes yet.
We discussed that we would get them just before order arrived when we knew what we would be getting. Measure and fit them to the top shelf of the kitchen. Buy from Lewisham market.

Sheets¶

We looked at Val’s work which was great. We spotted some names to remove.
We discussed that people could say they had a half meal if they wanted.
Val to update sheets and to do some more for things that have run out, pest sightings and new ideas ect (details on wiki)
