1) Twenty Ten: new default theme

• replaces Kubrick’s lame theme

2) New Step in the installation

• easier to remember login information
• tells if your password is too weak
• gets rid of “admin” first username
• overall: improves blog security

3) Create custom content types

• ability to create new kinds of content (Drupal)
• requires only a little extra code instead of expanding the interface by yourself

  • new options include: podcasts, videos, quotes, chats
  • similar to Tumblr
  • easier for business groups to manage the site/ ect (non-profit improved too?)

4) Custom Menu System

• CMS for wordpress (like Drupal)
• new functionality
• easy to create custom menus: mix categories, pages or custom URLs
• “drag and drop” capabilities – combine pages, categories and links
• can hide pages from menu

5) WP and WP MU

• easy to create your own blog network, multi-user functionality

• multisite: run multiple blogs from a single installation (super admin, other admin)

6) Custom Background from the Admin:

• no more need to use CSS
• change image or color bg
• go to “functions.php” and ad one line of code – shows screen panel that allows you to
  select a color or upload an image

  • “breadcrumbs” for pages and posts
  • new wp_login form
  • allow “no role”
  • multiple admins
  • child theme support
