Housing Authority EAB Program and Schedule

Groups intersted in Youth Earn A Bike

Here is some info and notes on the groups I have been corresponding with. I put their contact info, hours etc. in a spradsheet which I am attaching.

Pittsburgh Project

They are a pretty cool organization with youth programs like gardening, music, home rehab etc. They say they have students and transport for the students for them to participate in our programs but they don’t have very much money to pay for them.

Hosanna House

They want people to do short fun bike related activities. Fix a flat, slow bike races, etc.

YWCA

They definitely want Free Ride to be incorporated into their Summer Camp- Science Math and Relevant Technology. This first week of May, they will hopefully decide what hours work for them and what weeks in the summer, they want to do the program.

Frick Environmental Education Center

They have summer environmental ed camp in Frick Park and want to incorporate bicycles into it.

Boys& Girls Club

We have a really great contact there- who works at a b&G club in Carnegie. She is trying to connect us with Boys & Girls Clubs in Lawrenceville, Wilkinsburg and Shadyside. I have spoken with the Shadyside people and they are interested but don’t know if they have the financial resources to pay for the program. I will continue to try to correspond with the Larenceville and Wilkinsburg B&G.

Girls Scouts various troops have expressed interest but nothing has materialized. We have put bulletins in their newsletters and can continue to try to convince troops that bikes and bike repair is super cool!
