What is the Dubai Metro?

The Dubai Metro is a rapid transit system that consists of 87 stations that stretch across three lines. The Dubai Tram, meanwhile, runs through Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Palm Jumeirah on one line. The Most Important Things About The New and Extended Metro Lines

Although there are two metro lines currently in operation, these two systems will be combined into one large system known as The Dubai Metro. In addition to what is currently offered by those two systems, The Dubai Metro will offer passengers several other features

What Does a New Train Station Look Like?

The Sheikh Zayed Station, which will become one of 27 stations in operation by 2020, is a work in progress. When it opens its doors to passengers next year, it will be home to 40 escalators, 16 elevators and eight automatic platform gates. It’s also designed to accommodate 13 types of trains, including ones that are completely driverless.

How Far Will it Take Me?

It’s important to know how far you’ll be traveling and whether it will take an hour or four. Here is a map that shows you where you can travel and how long it will take. Once you get used to using your metro map, which should look like an eye chart by now, finding your route will become second nature. You won’t have to think about it as much—you’ll get there on autopilot!

How Much Does it Cost?

The Dubai Metro is a reasonably-priced alternative to taxis, but be prepared to pay 2 AED per trip. If you’re traveling in groups, it can be cheaper to split a cab ride than taking multiple rides on the metro. You can buy single tickets or multi-ride tokens at vending machines located throughout stations.

Best Ways to Use Your E-Ticket

An e-ticket is a digital ticket that provides you access to public transportation, and can be purchased online. The e-ticket (or e-ticket) will show up on your phone as a QR code, allowing you to board by simply showing it to a metro employee. For first time users, these tickets may seem intimidating; however, they are extremely easy to use and have a lot of benefits.

All Operating Hours

A train departs every 3 minutes at peak time (8am-10am and 5pm-7pm) and every 5 to 10 minutes during off-peak times. Stations are closed at 1am. The trains operate until midnight Sunday to Thursday and until 1:30am on Friday and Saturday nights. As expected, fares rise during rush hour as more people take public transportation rather than drive themselves.
