Server Updates:

• Feedback from Tuesday:
  See the feature on IMC-UK for general update on the server.
  Tuckers Solicitors are now involved and specialise in Internet and seizures! They are contacting the Police to find out the position relating to the Warrant and why it was taken.

• Possible costs
  There will be costs relating to the server – due to having to move the site around and incurring fines for going over the bandwidth elsewhere – At a guess these could be as much as £700 – see Yossarians e-mail to the UK process list for details. This £700 will be split down to UK and London costs when the bills come in but we need to begin sorting out the UK and London finances so we are ready to pay as the costs are currently being met by an individual and that can’t continue.

Linked to this we need to sort out the UK account and its signatures. We need to update what we owe Riseup, and we need to talk to Global finance for support relating to the docs.indymedia site. Tony to chase up Andi and the old processes…

• Outreach to media
  We need to continue to contact any media we know (including anyone else on this list) sending out the press release and following up info. If you want to help with this please e-mail the list.

• Global Indymedia feature?
  It was raised why there wasn’t a feature on Global IMC – although it shouldn’t overplay the Gaza work – the global imc community should be aware what is going on. E-mails have been sent to Global Communication list.

Admin access to UK site:
Following the action to remove Ben from the Admin of the UK site – we talked through the issues – see imc-uk-moderation list and Mara’s round-up of our possible response to this list. We wanted to send a reply to the UK network and also a group would work on the writing up of a process to delete admin access in the future.

Library Social Centre – Hacklab/IMC events:
There have been some ideas floating around between The Library House and IMC’ers about setting up a regular hacklab/imc event each Wednesday. We can offer a range of laptops and help set up the internet. We will check with them what they want and see if we can set up a rota to set up.

Finance Consulta:
The Finance Consulta – that all IMC’s are trying to do to get an idea of what the current thinking is on fundraising and volunteerism within the network – should be sent back soon. We have the basis done but just need to check over the detail and then see if the UK network want to send a separate set of answers or amend ours. It has been put up on the London Wiki here for additions.

New IMC process:
We need to continue our journey through the New-IMC process – and it will start soon.

Regular meeting needed:
It was pointed out we need a regular meeting point – probably one in South and North London. As the Foundary was proving loud it was suggested that we try the South Bank – Royal Festival Hall again (we used to meet there 6/7 years back) it is know and easy to get to – So next Tuesday 3rd – we will meet there at 8pm. If you are facing the building we will meet on the right hand mezzanine floor where we hope there are still tables and chairs… could have all changed in the refurb!

New Volunteers:
We need to follow up on new volunteers requests sent to the imc-uk-contact list – better than we are at the moment – to be discussed in the future…

Using the London e-mail address:
An issue came up last week about the use of the official london e-mail heading for mail outs – this subject needs further discussion at a meeting with all involved…

IRC/Network meeting needed:
We felt there were many issue coming up that needed UK network wide discussion so we thought we should start work on a new network meeting and some irc chats to go over issues and agendas….
