Supplier…

(action point from last meeting)

Last week, Katja and Noam researched 3 suppliers Suma, Infinity and Community Foods. From their research on price, stock and ethical approach – we are now looking at either Suma or Infinity Foods.

suma.co.uk
infinityfoods.co.uk

Infinity have provided a PDF file Catalogue/ Suma will send a catalogue to us in the post.

Action Point: Dan and Joe to begin looking through the catalogues and compare prices and availablility with reference to the wish list compiled in meeting 1.

Everyone: Watch the notice board! Plan is to create a sheet where we will be able to input ideas on what to order as and when we feel inspired

Catalogues include other products other than food – house hold goods/candles… see “Food Coop site” discussion below on how to see catalogues…

Storage…

(action point from last meeting)

Dan and Joe contacted two central London sweet shops – ‘Mr Kibble’s’ and ‘Hope and Greenwood’. Both said that they had storage boxes and jars we could have on collection –

Action Point: Dan and Joe – trip to town to collect storage/eat sweets

Money

(action point from last meeting)

Discussion in last meeting to look at three possible ways of working the financial side of the food coop operations:

1. Average Spend – Each coop member estimates how much they spend a month on food. Amount is averaged to provide initial figure.

2. Meals – Set price for breakfast/lunch/dinner/ money paid in provides money to spend

3 Freestyle! buy the food we want and split the cost out

Discussion continued this week. Idea proposed to work with the amounts estimated by the catalogue adventures and make first order as a way to move onward..

  • Action Point:* as above on ‘Supplier’ discussion point…

Other people!

(discussion point from last meeting)

Those discussed(!) last week have been ’’enlightened’’ by Jacek, Kristine, Joe…

Discussion so far around two inital levels of involvement.
1.Chosing and contributing for the collective purchase/sharing of foods
2.Placing an order for what individuals want

anyone unsure of anything don’t be afraid to ask in reply to this mail and we can work out the best answers together.

Fresh Foods

Suggestion that fresh foods are included in the coop order. The following fresh food suppliers suggested

Farm Around – farmaround.co.uk
Riverford – riverford.co.uk
Able and Cole – abelandcole.co.uk
Everybody Organic – everybodyorganic.com
Graham Hughes Organic – no site

Action Point: Noam to research

Food Coop Site

We now have a site for sharing information on the coop – Thank you to Daniel and his magic hands – The site allows us to upload files and edit them.

The Infinity catalogue is uploaded, along with the minutes from the last meeting and an explanation on food coops.
