Stratton Gaines

Stratton Gaines was a Neo-Nazi organizer majoring in Asian Languages and Cultures at UT who graduated in spring 2017. Stratton first appeared on the radar when he was caught on video advocating for a white ethno-state during the YCT’s racist bake sale. He was known for organizing with the local alt-right & Neo-Nazis, and has more recently been tied to the Identity Evropa crew of Nazis who flyered campus sporadically throughout 2016 and 2017. He showed up to heckle the J20 protests on inauguration day. When confronted by protestors and told to get out, he wielded a knife. He was temporarily detained by UTPD but let go without charge for brandishing a knife against other students.

Pseudonyms: Stratton often goes by the name Greg E. Paulson online and often gave that name to media.

Administration response: When fliers exposing Stratton as a Nazi went up, UTPD took them down and tried to investigate who put them up. The fliers, naming an open and violent Neo-Nazi, were described as “harassment” against someone for “political beliefs.”

Stratton Gaines is a dangerous man and an active neo-nazi. It is assumed but not confirmed that Stratton still lives in Austin. When he was still a student he was known to live in West Campus, near 24th and Rio Grande, but it is unknown where he currently lives or if he is still in the area.
