Location: Scott G’s house
Time: 7PM

Agenda Items

  • Discuss the soon approaching drop-in classes… especially the “drop-in” part and a few other issues
  • Youth programs
  • Training instructors for both drop-in classes and regular mechanics classes

Drop-in class sign up

  • Begin-with no sign-ups. Make it strictly drop-in
    • Pay when you get there (using the register)
  • Discussion on possible sign-ups
    • Be ready with a system in case the classes are very popular
    • Have a list with limited slots and have the rest reserved for drop-in people
    • Internet payment and sign up is not that desirable because it doesn’t save much labor time

Payment for drop-in classes

  • Pay is $15 or what you can afford so that nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. Access card still is free for 2 times for EAB.
  • For the Sunday Series classes, credit card payment is not necessary. Contact the classes@bike-pgh.org to make arrangements.

Instructor Training

Drop-in training

Shadow as many classes as you are comfortable with (1+), then lead-teach a class in front of a qualified instructor. This is for a specific topic. This process repeats for each topic.

Sunday series training

The Sunday series training requires certification for each topic in the drop-in training.

Pay for training

  • Shadowing counts as volunteer hours
  • Lead-teaching in front of a qualified instructor earns half-pay
  • Can claim the other half of your pay once you have taught a class

Signing up to teach drop-ins

  • Use a queue system to make shift distribution fair
