took me less than five minutes to set it up (tested on two boxes).
Its really no trouble anymore.

1) install it

apt-get install tor

polipo is one of the dependencies, thats all you need to type.

2) download this config
gitweb.torproject.org/torbrowser.git/bl...
and move it to /etc/polipo/config
see it at the bottom

3) run

/etc/init.d/polipo restart

to make polipo know the new config

4) configure iceweasel:
size=85menu → edit → preferences → advanced → network → settings and do
- Manual proxy configuration via click
- http-proxy is 127.0.0.1
- Port is 8118
- select for all connectionssize
OR: use
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/...
(might be removed. Install it with apt-get)

5) close settings, and go to this site:
check.torproject.org
voila, you did it. Barely worth a how-to.
Why did i write it anyway? a)tor is way more fast than in the past and b) installation is much easier than in the past.
