DIY Unisex Portable Urinal

A simple to make unisex urinal which fits in a bag.

Unisex hand-held urinal

This portable urinal is good for both male and females. It is made from two 2 litre plastic bottles like used for milk or juice. They are placed neck to neck, one on top of the other, and taped firmly together. One is cut to form a funnel like mouth into which the user will piss.

It is easier to create a good connection if you cut of the threaded part of the spout on the lower bottle and cut vertically into the threaded part of the top one so that it closes up a little when pushed into the neck of the other bottle. However this method means you can not later separate the two bottles and put the lid when it is full of urine.

These can be made at almost zero cost (just the cost of the tape) and mass produced. The bottles are easy to come by for free.

It is obvious how to use them. The male simple points and shoots, trying not to create a splash back situation. The female spreads or squats and positions the device in order that piss enters the funnel shape and into the bottle. It can be held vertically or at an angle.

Illustrated instructions on their use could be printed and stuck onto the bottle over the original label.

In use, they could either be emptied down nearby drains between users or when filled, or they could be left for imaginative use by others.

Since they are cheap, quick and easy to produce, they do not need to be recovered after use.
