Proposed Principles

Proposed principles upon which to build Philly APOC.
  • All individuals and groups have a fundamental right to autonomy and self-determination.
  • Any struggle to subvert an oppressive system must be lead by those oppressed.
  • Those privileged by a system that oppresses others are responsible for assisting the oppressed in subverting it but are in no position to lead them.
  • White supremacy is an all-pervasive system of oppression, and, as with all oppressive systems, its dynamics can be reproduced by anyone, well-intentioned or not.
  • All struggles against oppression are inextricably linked and cannot be subverted in isolation.
  • Reforms are not solutions, for liberation requires a fundamental shift in the way people relate to one another, the environment, and other creatures.
