Description

The Riseup Collective is looking to hire an experienced CSS programmer to turn already created design mockups into html and css and implement these on crabgrass, our open source social organizing platform built in Ruby on Rails. We are working in cooperation with UNICEF’s Innovation Unit (http://unicefinnovation.org/) in NYC who are using crabgrass to create online classrooms in Africa as well as to give tools to activist groups engaged in work around AIDS, Climate Change, and Sexual Exploitation issues.

We have a great development team of tech activists distributed around the world. We are three core programmers, a UI designer, a visual designer, several part time programmers and designers, and one project manager. We are looking for experienced people with a commitment to liberatory social change to join the fun.

Details

The CSS programmer must have deep cross browser expertize, IE6 knowledge is a must. The developer must be comfortable working in a RoRs environment. Developers work on the application locally and to install crabgrass requires a basic comfort with the command line and rudimentary knowledge or willingness to learn basic git commands. (Other Developers will be on hand to help with installation and the git process if need be.)
