Legal surgeries – Tuesdays and Thursdays, waiting list in the Hub* (legal aid funded advice for detainees)
Voluntary return/Refugee Action – Refugee Action can help people with voluntary return and hold a surgery on a Tuesday (UKBA voluntary return info; Refugee Action)
Bail – BID handbook should be in library. We can’t help to fill out bail applications as this counts as legal advice but the BID handbook is useful for talking a detainee through what they should include to make a strong application for bail. Sureties – as a group we have said that we won’t stand as sureties but individuals can make their own choice about this.
Childrens Links – Give priority to family issues but can help with any welfare queries. Detainees can access this service in ‘The Hub’ every day, between 9.30 and 11am.
