Katherine Langford was born on the 29th of April 1996 in Perth, Australia. She was raised in Applecross, a riverside suburb of Perth. Her father, Stephen Langford, is the director of medical services at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations. At the same time, her mother, Elizabeth Langford, is a pediatrician. She has a little sister named Josephine Langford, who is also an actress.

Katherine has always loved singing and began voice lessons in 2005. She learned classical Jazz and contemporary vocal training.
