Nicole Richie is an American television star, actor, fashion designer, and producer from Berkeley, California. She is best known for being the childhood friend of popular TV personality Paris Hilton. Hilton is a name everyone has heard of regularly making headlines; she was most commonly found making headlines with one of her famous best friends, Nicole Richie.

Richie became popular after appearing on the successful reality TV show The Simple Life, where she starred alongside her best friend, Paris Hilton. That hit show ran from 2003 to 2007 for 5 seasons. Early Life

Nicole Camille Escovedo was (born September 21, 1981), in Berkeley, California, and has roots in Mexico, African-American, Louisiana Creole, European, and even a tad bit of English descent. Richie is a celebrity with a very strange childhood and a rich ethnic background.

Nicole’s biological father, Peter Michael Escovedo, just happened to be the brother of the popular Sheil E. On the other hand, Karen is Nicole’s biological mother. Her family wasn’t financially well off and ended up giving up their daughter for adoption to singer Lionel Richie as they knew they couldn’t provide for her. 

Lionel globally adopted her and became her legal guardian. During his career, he even wrote a song about her titled “Ballerina Girl,” which was a massive hit back in 1986. When she was just nine years old, Nicole was legally adopted by Lionel Richie and his wife, Brenda Harvey.
