we decided that we are having a great time at these discussions albeit small size. its so nice to find these connections. we are going to continue to meet through spring/summer, and then who knows. same bi(curious)monthly sunday schedule. it seems that emily’s location is pretty centralized point in town and that space can be ours anytime we do not have anyone else stepping up to host.

hip hop as feminism

too cool for skool:
radical ideas for education, un-schooling and free school

some ideas i was tossing around about other topics were:
some history of women and direct action
self-care, burnout, and dealing with trauma
gender/sexuality and class
women and prison and power
eco-feminism 2 with focus on lifestyle and food politics

but i welcome other suggestions or thoughts on these.

I would love to see us talk about self-care. That’s something that’s really lacking in many circles I find myself in, and I certainly have a habit of neglecting myself and my needs.

Women and prison and power is also a great one and I know that I have some materials on this if people are interested. Unfortunately they are mostly books rather than articles, but maybe chapters of them would be useful. Do other people have some thoughts?

Can we start meeting again? I’d also like to propose that we read pregnancy and power by rickie solinger and meet to discuss chapters. I think there’s like 5-6 long chapters/sections.
