The Film: Enemy of the State tells the thrilling tale of an apolitical lawyer (Will Smith), who is swept up in the kitschy machinations of an evil political apparatus (Jon Voigt, Jack Black, etc) who want to enact warrantless surveillance against Americans. (Gasp! Did I mention this movie is from the 90s?) Aided by a reformed evil genius NSA operator (Gene Hackman), the lawyer becomes an action hero. But is he too late to save our liberty?
The Warmup Act: We will give a brief (15 minute) update on the dynamic Israeli direct action group, Anarchists Against the Wall, who have been working in solidarity with Palestinians to stop the construction of a giant separation barrier and end the military occupation of the West Bank.
