- New IMC Form: Deadline set for 24.03.09 – please have a look and leave some feedback.
- IMC Finance Consulta: London Deadline set for 24.03.09 – please take a look and leave feedback. The Consulta will then be send to UK-Process, setting a deadline for 24.04.09, with the question if all local IMCs want to fill it in, or if UK wants to fill it in together.
- Admin Workshop: proposed date: between 29.-31. March.
- Autopromotion for Accounts: We got confused, as it is unclear how we can tell what users contribute good content, with the usernames having nothing to do with the name given as author.
- Suggestion to use one-time-codes for people who are posting without being logged in, like SF-Active does.
- Introducing Public Accounts in addition to the existing Private Accounts, with Public Accounts getting their own page collecting all their content similar to group. This could also help with the problem around auto-promotion.
Question: should registered usernames be blocked for everyone else, so only the logged in user can give this specific username as author?
- Links to London Progressive Media: this started a whole big discussion, the general feeling seemed to be that Media Collectives could use groups like anyone else and there was no need to link to them more prominently.
- As the amount of groups is growing, we need to figure out some sorting system for them, be it categories, networks, or tagging. Some way for people to find groups they’re interested in.
- G20:
- Freedom and RampArt will be open during the days.
- An email is going out to UK Features List, asking if UK people have anything planned. Will they be doing a Feature / Timeline? If so, London will contribute to that, if not London will have to make their own.
- As we don’t have enough people, there won’t be an open Access Point. We will try and set up a dispatch → where is the phone?
- Rota: we seem to be very few people, please put yourself in the G20 Rota so we get a better idea what we can do. (Note: the G20 Rota is a private page and only members of the IMC London Group will be able to see it)
- There is an idea to have a mobile IMC station that covers different action, with people being able to report directly from the streets. This will only be possible, if there will be enough people.
- The G20 event has turned into the Launch of IFI Watch TV, at Horse Hospital (Russel Square)
It does not seem to be an Indymedia event anymore, and we don’t have a Venue. It was supposed to be a bit nicer than your regular squat. If anyone knows something that might still be available, shout.
Where is the projector? Is there still an Indymedia Laptop? Where?
- Calais NoBorder Camp, June 23rd – 29th
going to be bigger than Gatwick, Indymedia Lille will set up an IMC on the campsite and a space in town and are planning to provide multilingual reporting. They need help. Who wants to get involved / go to the camp?
- Soas Event Internet for Activists
our workshop slot is 16:00-17:00. As hardly anyone at the meeting was making it, we discarded the idea of having a stall. We might be able to set up a helpdesk during and/or shortly after the workshop.
Does the workshop room have internet and projector?
