In May 2010, the ‘Merthyr to Mayo’ cycle caravan will travel from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales to Mayo, Ireland. Over two weeks, the caravan will visit different towns and villages on route, holding free events to raise awareness about the current situation in North Mayo and Merthyr Tydfil. These events will link these two community campaigns against fossil fuel extraction with the wider issues of climate change, environmental sustainability and corporate control. The caravan will arrive in Mayo for the ‘Rossport Solidarity Camp’ June bank holiday gathering (5/6/7th June).
