Essay - Analysis of the UK's traditional 'coniferisation policy', with special reference to state (Forestry Commission) forest ownership

This is a paper uniquely combining both poetry and economics to deconstruct the UK's traditional coniferisation, and anti local tenure of, forest policy/ownership system. It was written a few years ago and seems kinda naive now in the light of 'real world' issues such as inertia, status quo etc. It takes more than hope and faith to empower and wake the local community to the potential for collective land projects. I do think in order to 'make it real', the Forestry Commission forests need to be taken by direct action..rather than the local community buy out process that is happening in Scotland. The core values of real community forests are non monetary...and a buy out process immediately starts people off ona moronic, and often deeply boring, 'little money making projects' trip. Amazing realities could be created by people...nature...if tenure was secured and the will and understanding of possibilities was there in peoples minds.
