Process and rules regarding invitations and bans from space

Process!

Requirements:

  • active on reddit recently (regardless of having a reddit account)
  • active on IRC recently
  • not banned from any SRS channels
  • a safe person who is a minority
  • educated about safer spaces and oppression
  • vouched for by two current users

Re-admission

Violations of any part of the Safer Space Policy will result in a ban. Users may message an organiser to appeal a ban only if they:

  • are already qualified under the entry process
  • understand their violation, and are able to explain such to the appropriate person
  • show that they are educated in the nature of the violation
  • have never been banned before

Joy had the idea that everyone ought to agree whether a person is allowed back in after a ban. Thoughts?

Good idea.

Depending on the number of operators, it may be hard to get everyone’s opinion in a timely fashion.

Hmm. Definitely a problem there.

I suggest that an op take all of the information leading up to the ban into consideration and if they decide to unban, they must send the decision to other ops to reverse or stay as per majority (not consenus) vote.

Given that I am currently in trouble with the Fempire (so far as I can tell, which isn’t much), having it entirely tied to reddit seems problematic to me. Sometimes things go down on reddit which wouldn’t elsewhere due to other extenuating circumstances. How much would that be taken into account?
