FAQ¶
Q. what is a wiki?
A. A wiki is a website that allows the creation and editing of any number of interlinked web pages via a web browser using a simplified markup language or a WYSIWYG text editor.
Q. why are we using one for Silent victories?
A. we agreed to have few meetings. We need a more static space to organise that complements the linear emails. Crab grass is designed for groups to organise. It’s strong but simple at the moment, but has all we need. Any one in a group can ‘share the tech’ after learning a few simple formatting formats.
Q. Is it secure?
A. No. The internet as a whole should not be viewed as secure. Especially when sharing info with a group of people who are new to internet security. But compared to other systems: it’s not corporate, not intrusive, does not log your usage, can be used anonymously, and is built from the ground up around freedom of expression and anti censorship, so it’s as good as it gets. It’s also open source. :O)
TIPS¶
- Tip: choose to have Crab grass let you know when a page you are involved in changes by clicking the top right check-box ‘Watch for changes’
- Tip: you can edit the title and URL of a page after you have made it by hovering your mouse over the tittle so the ‘edit title’ option appears A LONG WAY to the right of the title
- Tip: you can edit your own comments on a wiki if they are no longer relevant. Or even delete them.
