In 2009, the San Francisco Bay Area Community Exchange has been emerging from the passionate interest of many individuals who want to create vibrant alternatives to the dominant, formal economic system.

By serving as a resource clearinghouse for exchange- and monetary-related projects in the SF Bay Area, our members have become a valuable local resource that can help facilitate the creation of thriving local economies in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. We meet, socialize, provide support to others who are interested in developing new means of exchange, incubate new projects, educate about related economic issues and develop infrastructure to support an active network of community-based projects and their missions.
