The Sumac Centre is social centre in Nottingham, UK and has become a thriving place for the community to come together, socialise, and work together to make the world a better place. It provides resources for community groups and individuals interested in and campaigning for human rights, animal rights, environmental protection, peace, and social justice worldwide. It actively promotes mutual aid and co-operation.
The Sumac Centre receives no regular funding and exists purely through the hard work of over 50 volunteers from the local community. No one is in charge, and no one makes any money from the centre. Our ethos is ‘Do It Yourself’ – people taking back control of their own lives by making things happen collectively.
